Start with what the skill hands back
Short drama skills split by what they hand back. Script-only skills stop at text: Short-Drama Factory takes an idea or web novel to a series outline, episode scripts, paywall points and a continuity ledger, and Short Drama Screenplay Skill adds review and compliance checks plus an overseas English format. Adaptation-to-storyboard skills carry the story further, into character sheets, shot lists and prompts you paste into a video tool; shuohao-skills and Seedance 2.0 Storyboard Generator work this way. Prompt-only skills, such as Seedance 2.0 Skill OS, assume the script already exists and only write the shot prompts.
One project, start to finish
Pipeline skills treat the drama as one project and keep track of where it stands. Drama Skills keeps five Markdown files per episode, Short Drama Production tracks a production.json from outline to rough cut, Dramake folds generation routing, dubbing, editing and QA into one line, and Short-Drama Director Suite (Manju Laoli) fixes the video model and aspect ratio before it writes anything. Pipelines save the glue work but impose their own file layout, so run one episode through a single pipeline before you mix in skills from other authors.
Skills that drive a product
A separate group exists to drive a product rather than to teach the agent a method. Toonflow Skills come with an open-source canvas app and include an MCP skill for outside agents, ArcReel agent skills operate a self-hosted workbench, and DramaClaw Skill advances a project already loaded into DramaClaw. Pippit CLI skills and LibTV Skill send requests to a vendor's hosted agent. They can cover more of the line, but only together with the app or account behind them, so settle that first.
What to check before installing
Before installing, check five things on the skill's page. Target model: prompt syntax is tied to the model. Seedance Prompt Skill writes for Jimeng's @ references and H3 Storyboard is written for MiniMax H3, so match the skill to the model you will actually run. Agent: most are SKILL.md folders for Claude Code and Codex, though some name one, like AI Short Drama Screenwriter, a Codex skill. Language: most are written in Chinese; NolanX film skills is English and Super Director System has Chinese and English main systems. License: MIT and Apache-2.0 are common, but there is also AGPL-3.0, Huobao Drama Skills is CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 (no commercial use), and some repositories declare none. Paid access: anything that calls a hosted service or a video-model API needs your own account or key, and generation cost depends on that service.
