SC 01Overview

What it does

A router skill initializes or continues a project and opens a local dashboard, and the stage skills cover novel analysis, development (adaptation plan, director's statement, episode map), episode writing, asset and look design, image prompts, storyboards with frozen keyframe prompts, video prompts, confirmed media production, cutting with subtitles and loudness, and review. Each episode keeps its creative facts in five Markdown files (script, visual settings, storyboard, image prompts, video prompts), and a checker script cross-references them and reports broken references and mismatches. Writing runs on your agent's own model; images, video, voice and music go through external adapters with your own provider credentials, and every paid job is previewed and explicitly confirmed first. The skill text and file formats are mostly Chinese, with an English README alongside.

SC 02Install

How to install it

  • 01From the README

The install command quoted from the repository README.

    npx skills add zenstory-ai/drama-skills -y -g
  • 02skills CLI, for Claude Code, Codex and others

The open skills CLI from Vercel Labs installs a skill from a GitHub repo into the folder each agent expects. It asks which skills and which agents you want, and it installs for the current project unless you add the -g flag, which installs for your user account. Add --list to see what a repo contains before you install anything.

    npx skills add zenstory-ai/drama-skills
  • 03Claude Code, skills folder

Copy the skill's folder, the one that holds SKILL.md, into ~/.claude/skills/ to use it in every project on your machine, or into .claude/skills/ in a repository to use it there and share it by committing it. Claude Code picks up changes to these folders during a session. If the folder did not exist when the session started, run /reload-skills.

  • 04Claude Code, plugin marketplace

Some repos publish a plugin marketplace, a .claude-plugin/marketplace.json file. Add it in Claude Code, then install a plugin from it with /plugin install plugin-name@marketplace-name. Plugins can bundle hooks and MCP servers along with skills, so read the details panel before you confirm.

    /plugin marketplace add zenstory-ai/drama-skills
  • 05Codex, skills folder or $skill-installer

Codex reads skills from .agents/skills in your working folder and its parent folders up to the repository root, and from $HOME/.agents/skills for every repository. Copy the skill's folder into one of them, or run $skill-installer inside Codex and ask it to install from the repo. Codex detects new skills automatically and needs a restart only if one does not appear.

The first command is quoted from the author's README. The others are the standard ways to install a skill from a GitHub repository. They are templates and may not apply here, for example if the repo has no plugin marketplace, so follow the README first.

SC 03Guide

How to get the most from it

Good for

  • Developing a novel, an idea or an existing multi-episode script into an episode map and per-episode scripts for vertical Chinese short dramas or motion comics.
  • Keeping character looks, props and held items consistent from shot to shot through written continuity locks that a script can check.
  • Writing copy-ready image and video prompts for a chosen video model (MiniMax H3, Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, and Wan 3.0 dialects are included), then cutting the generated shots into a film.
  • Screenwriters, comic-drama studios and directors who prefer plain files in a folder, worked on through an agent, over a hosted app.

Watch out for

  • Writing only uses your agent's quota, but images, video, voice and music are billed by your own provider. The README reports roughly 40 yuan of video generation for its 68-second sample, and each job is previewed before it runs.
  • Needs Node for the npx install, Python 3.9 or newer for the helper scripts, and ffmpeg and ffprobe on PATH for the cut stage.
  • The bundled adapters cover Seedance, GPT Image 2, MiniMax H3 video, MiniMax speech and music, and only guarantee a verified request format, not account access or output quality; other providers need an adapter of your own.

Typical workflow

01Step
Install the suite with the npx command, then ask the agent to initialize a project with the short-drama skill, for example a vertical 9:16 urban drama.
02Step
If you have source material, run novel analysis and development first to get an adaptation verdict, an episode map and a director's statement.
03Step
Write one episode, then break the script into characters, locations, props and states and write reference-image prompts.
04Step
Build the storyboard with frozen keyframes, write video prompts for your target model, and run the checker script to find broken references.
05Step
Preview one generation job with the produce skill, confirm it explicitly, and let it run through your configured adapter.
06Step
Cut the generated shots into a film with the edit skill and, if wanted, ask the review skill to audit the episode.
