Start with what you want back
Start with what you want back from the agent. Text on the page means a screenplay, an outline or a story bible. A shot plan means a shot table, a storyboard or a director's breakdown. Pictures or clips means the skill also drives an image or video model. Most skills in this collection stop after the first two, which keeps the output portable: a script and shot list written once can feed any generator. Prompt formulas for a specific video model are in video prompt skills, and vertical serials have their own set in short drama skills.
Lightest: writing skills
Writing skills are the lightest option. Screenwriting Skills bundles 26 skills on premise, structure, character, dialogue and series design, with a workflow skill that keeps a story bible between sessions. Shanyin Screenwriting Master is a single Chinese-language skill that switches between concept shorts, short films, features and series and pauses for your approval at each step. Screen Creative Skills adds 31 Claude Code skills for developing short dramas, series and films, including script evaluation. None of the three needs a video model.
In the middle: craft and storyboards
Craft libraries and storyboard builders sit in the middle. DirectorSkills turns ten film-craft books and a camera reference into 98 skills on directing, shot design, lighting, color and sound, and NolanX film skills offers nineteen short skills on story structure, Fountain screenplays, shot language and continuity. Script to Shootable Storyboard, Agentara video skills and AI Storyboard turn a script or video plan into a shot table, a storyboard sheet or panel prompts for an image model. Storyboard Creation from inference.sh is a reference on shot types and the 180-degree line, with rendering commands that call the inference.sh CLI. Reelbench skills work backwards, measuring an existing video into a shot-by-shot table so you can study a reference film's pacing.
Heaviest: pipelines and vendor skills
End-to-end pipelines and vendor skills go further and reach pictures and clips, so they bring dependencies. Toonflow Skills belong to the open-source Toonflow canvas app and assume its tools. PAI-Pro is a local studio whose clips render with PAI Video models. Codeywood has Claude Code drive Python scripts against image and video backends. Scenario Agent Skills need the Scenario MCP server, and fal.ai Skills run through the genmedia CLI. Skills from a tool's own publisher (marked official) are written for that tool, so they only pay off if you plan to use it. Choose this kind when you want the whole path in one place and accept the account and cost that come with it.
What to check before installing
Before installing, check four things. Target model: many shot-level skills write prompts for Seedance 2.0 or 2.5, while Film Studio Skills records whichever image and video models you use in your project file. Agent: Screenwriting Skills ships for both Claude Code and Codex, AI Storyboard is set up for Claude Code, and Script to Shootable Storyboard is tuned for Codex. Language: Shanyin Screenwriting Master, DirectorSkills and Script Forging are in Chinese, Screenwriting Skills keeps its files in Chinese but answers in your language, and NolanX film skills and Scenario Agent Skills are in English. License: InkOS skills are AGPL-3.0, AI Storyboard is GPL-3.0, Script Forging, Film Studio Skills and Codeywood declare none, and Shanyin adds no-resale terms to its MIT license. Every skill here is third-party code, so read its SKILL.md before you install it.
