SC 01Overview

What it does

The pack splits short-drama preparation into the roles of the app's own agents. One skill rewrites novel text into numbered scenes with dialogue, one extracts each episode's characters, scenes and at most three key props, and one cuts the script into 8–15 second storyboard segments of 2–4 shots. Four prompt skills then write a character turnaround sheet, an empty establishing shot per location, a white-background prop shot, and a time-segmented video prompt that pins people and places with @ references. Every file is written around the app's tool calls (reading the script, saving records), so outside Huobao Drama you keep the rules and rewrite those steps, and the repository's CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license limits use to non-commercial purposes unless the author agrees in writing.

SC 02Install

How to install it

  • 01skills CLI, for Claude Code, Codex and others

The open skills CLI from Vercel Labs installs a skill from a GitHub repo into the folder each agent expects. It asks which skills and which agents you want, and it installs for the current project unless you add the -g flag, which installs for your user account. Add --list to see what a repo contains before you install anything.

    npx skills add https://github.com/chatfire-AI/huobao-drama/tree/master/backend/workspace/skills
  • 02Claude Code, skills folder

Copy the skill's folder, the one that holds SKILL.md, into ~/.claude/skills/ to use it in every project on your machine, or into .claude/skills/ in a repository to use it there and share it by committing it. Claude Code picks up changes to these folders during a session. If the folder did not exist when the session started, run /reload-skills.

  • 03Claude Code, plugin marketplace

Some repos publish a plugin marketplace, a .claude-plugin/marketplace.json file. Add it in Claude Code, then install a plugin from it with /plugin install plugin-name@marketplace-name. Plugins can bundle hooks and MCP servers along with skills, so read the details panel before you confirm.

    /plugin marketplace add chatfire-AI/huobao-drama
  • 04Codex, skills folder or $skill-installer

Codex reads skills from .agents/skills in your working folder and its parent folders up to the repository root, and from $HOME/.agents/skills for every repository. Copy the skill's folder into one of them, or run $skill-installer inside Codex and ask it to install from the repo. Codex detects new skills automatically and needs a restart only if one does not appear.

We could not quote an install command from this repo's README. The commands listed here are the generic ones for any skill repository and may not apply, so check the README first.

SC 03Guide

How to get the most from it

Good for

  • Studying a worked example of how an AI short-drama app divides its pipeline into script, asset, storyboard and prompt stages.
  • Borrowing the storyboard segment rules (8–15 seconds each, long enough for the dialogue at 4.5 characters per second plus two seconds of acting room) for your own prompts.
  • Reusing the three reference-image formats (character turnaround, empty scene, white-background prop) to keep identity consistent across shots.
  • Existing Huobao Drama users who want to edit the skills from the app's settings.

Watch out for

  • The license is CC BY-NC-SA 4.0: no commercial use without the author's written permission, and derivatives must carry the same license.
  • The main SKILL.md files are in Chinese (English, Japanese and Korean variants sit beside them) and refer to the app's own tool names, for example save_storyboards and update_storyboard, which other agents do not have, so those steps need rewriting.
  • It is not a standalone install: the files live under backend/workspace/skills and rely on the app's database, automatic style injection and @ reference replacement.

Typical workflow

01Step
Open backend/workspace/skills in the repository and pick the stage you need: rewriting, extraction, storyboard or prompts.
02Step
Follow script-rewriter to turn one novel chapter into numbered scenes (S01, S02 ...) with dialogue and no camera language.
03Step
Follow extractor to list the episode's characters, scenes and a few key props, reusing existing names instead of creating duplicates.
04Step
Follow storyboard-breaker to cut the script into segments, checking that each one is long enough for its dialogue.
05Step
Write reference-image prompts with character-prompt, scene-prompt and prop-prompt, then a video prompt per segment with video-prompt, split into 3-second blocks with @ references.
06Step
If you are not running Huobao Drama, replace the tool-call steps in each file with your own agent's file or database operations.
